SEOUL, South Korea — Nunemiso Eye Center announced on June 23 that it has implemented the CLEAR Flow Suite, a next-generation digital platform for SMILE laser eye surgery, developed by Swiss medical device manufacturer ZIEMER.

This adoption stems from a strategic partnership with ZIEMER, designating the Seoul-based hospital as a global pilot institution for the technology.

The CLEAR Flow Suite integrates with ZIEMER’s Femto LDV Z8 laser system to automate the examination, surgical planning, and operative processes through a digital framework. Hospital officials noted that the platform enables surgeons to access preoperative diagnostic data in real time during procedures, significantly enhancing precision and efficiency.

Moving away from manual planning, the system analyzes corneal topography, refractive measurements, and wavefront data to generate tailored surgical plans for each patient’s unique ocular profile. These plans are automatically transmitted to the laser equipment, ensuring greater procedural accuracy.

“This platform establishes a digital surgical environment that elevates the precision and safety of SMILE procedures,” a hospital spokesperson said. “It represents a transformative step in small incision lenticule extraction, setting a new benchmark for the field. Our medical team is dedicated to ongoing research and skill refinement to optimize patient outcomes as lenticule surgery technology advances.”
